From my experience, I believe that, QTP checkpoints and Recovery Scenarios are not used in real-time projects much.
I believe only 1-5 % testers maybe using these. Or my analysis is limited here.
I feel they are problematic to manage/edit.
Am I correct, please let me know.

can not confirm the statics (how many people would be using recovery scenario) but yes very less percentages of people are using recovery scenarios.
but on the other hand our framework is able to use recovery scenario very efficiently, yes we never used checkpoints.
if you are able to use recovery scenario, efficiently then you can increase your script execution performance 3x, they are very useful, but very tricky to use.
