I'm using QTP10 to automate .net application and all the object repositories are created using IE.
Now, I'm facing problem when running the scripts with firefox(3.6.24). QTP is unable to recognize WBFGrid because in firefox the class for the table is showing as WebTable.
Is there any possible way so that I can use same object repository with minimal changes (coz there are many scripts with wbfGrid.
Please let me know, is there anyone who faced the same kind of problem?
Thanks for the reply. I've attached the snapshots for IE and FF. Both have many identical properties but classes are different i.e. wbfGrid and WebTable. So as per my knowledge, QTP's object identification mechanism fails at the very start when it does not get the wbfGrid class as stored in object repository. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).
I got one more strange thing regarding my Firefox while I spy any object ...the native properties shows "...Objects do not support run time object properties". But, in IE i can see any object's native properties. Please let me know, do i need any setting changes?
I was checking for native property coz of the following workaround i wanted to try ....
C:\Program Files\HP\QuickTest Professional\dat\WebFormsConfiguration.xml .... here, i wanted to change the rule by putting any common native property (and it's value by regular expression) between IE and Firefox so that to change the class for webtable to wbfGrid for FF..
But, can not try it now....as QTP10 does not support native properties...
