Request if RemoteAgent is ready over VBS
Hi everyone. Iím working on a small project to rerun scripts that not has been executed in the nightly run.
What I want now is, that my rerunner (VBS code) asks the remoteagent if the machine is free to execute and if yes run it on that machine.
The slightly difference is, that it not should run over a hostgroup. it actually sets the host manually to the machines name in the hostgroup. the reason is we become a lot of fake runs when we trigger over a host group or catastrophic failures.
Re: Request if RemoteAgent is ready over VBS
Hi Dee, your requirements aren't that clear.
If your agent is in vbscript, then surely you should put it into a loop that lasts until you terminate it:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
connect to QC test lab (through OTA)
find a test that needs executing
update a flag somewhere to say that this machine will execute the test
execute the test (using QTP API)
update the flag to say execution has finished
You should load the agent on each machine and leave it running.
As to how you prorgram this, well it's a mixture of OTA and QTP API programming. There will be examples out there of how to connect to the test lab, how to launch QTP scripts through vbs, you'll just need to pull it together.
