TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

On a machine as User1 I have created a test and saved it in QC.
And on the same machine logging in as User2 I could not open the same test as it displayed the message "Test does not exist". Suspecting it due to permissions of both the users i have verified the permissions of both the users in QC site admin. But they both belong to the same group.

This is really stopping me to execute the test as User2.

Any help in this issue would apprecite.
    Cheers
    Mano

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

The error usually occurs when the entry of the test is there in QC DB but the files for the test are not there.

    Possible reasons could be
    - Some permission issues
    - Low space on QC server
    - Something else

Yes, we had similar issues when QC was low on disk space.

Login as User 1 & save the test as a new test.

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

I did some work arounds but no use. I have changed permissions of Usre2 but still the issue persists and could nt even upload a new test in to QC.
As User1 created a copy of the same test and saved in a different folder of QC and tried to open the same as User2 which again gives the same message "Test does not exist".
Also ran repair set up of QTP as User2 which is nothing do with.
    Cheers

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

We have faced this issue, when we had version control for QC. and when one test was created by user1 but not checked in to QC. Then user2 wont be able to acces the test created by user1.

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

    Manohar,

    Try it in 2 steps.

    1. Save the test to the file system.
    2. Upload the test to QC from the file system.

    Then check with user 2.

If we do 'Save As' from QC, I suppose some values from QC tables will be carried over from the old test and the issue retained.

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

    Raj,
I have tried the above two steps as User1 but still User2 cannot open the same test as the message "test found missing" displayed in this scenario as well.

i have noticed that logging in to the machine as User1 and connecting to QC as User2 from QTP, i can open the test susccessfully. So STRANGE... Can conclude that issue would be User specific which repair set up did not even resolve..
    Cheers

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

You should get the profile for user2 deleted and then recreate the profile for user2.

Also have you checked user 2 on different machines to reproduce the issue?

Re: TEST FOUND MISSING while opening QC asset in QTP

Sometimes the temporary files on the local machine become corrupt. Try deleting the temporary files QC stores locally, these are likely to be under a TD80 directory somewhere under the logged in user. Sometimes copying in known to be working files into the same location can also fix the problem.

    Cheers,
    Brendan.
