I would like to know how we can manage our QTP scripts efficiently . When i say efficiently - i meant at any moment of time , i must be able to see the old version, compare my script with previous versions etc . Also , it will be a huge plus while working in collaborative environment ( when more than 1 automation framework engineer works on same set of scripts) . I can see in my QTP a version control option - ALM/QC Version control . Unfortunately , it is disabled in my QTP ( I have to contact QTP support person in my organization)
I would like to know whether any one has already used ALM/QC feature for maintaining the scripts ? If Yes , what all the COOL things we can achieve by ALM/QC
thanks for your suggestion . I explored SVN tool and here is my understanding
1.Install SVN on server and you have to create a SVN repository on the server first
2.SVN tortoise subversioning client can then access SVN repository (by using server URL) and start checkin/check out the files .
Now , in my case we store all the scripts in Quality center (QC is on a server ) but we do not have access to install any thing on QC server so i think , i can not use SVN
Also ,I was looking for an intergrated repository concept with QTP IDE . ALM/QC version control does not solve intergrated repository approach ?
