How to record object with variable name?
Hello. I am testing a web application that changes the names of the WebEdit components and others every run. Is it possible to disable using the name parameter and use different as a name? I configured Object Identification for WebEdit object to use just outerhtml as mandatory property and Base Filter Property in Smart Identification.
QTP 11 still records also the name of WebEdit and does not detect this object while running the test. Is it possible to solve this problem?
Re: How to record object with variable name?
If you can find some property or part of the property that uniquely identifies that object then yes. Other than that ising one of the Oridnal Identifies (index or location) maybe an option if the number of webedits is static or calculateable.
Have you looked at using regiular expressions with Descriptive Programming, this can sometimes help?
