Location ordinal not working for .net app
I have a .Net app which I am testing. The test I am trying to run involves opening the live version of teh app and opening the dev version of the app and comparing the values in a table on both.
The way I am trying to go about this (which has worked for its sister app which is also .Net) is to do SwfWindow(Main).SetTOProperty("Location",0) to set the ordinal of the main window to 0 so that all subsequent actions on the window work on the first instance of the app, then do SwfWindow("Main").SetTOProperty("Location",1) so that all subsequent actions work on the second instance of the app.
When I open the object repository, manually set the Location to 0 or 1, then click the highlight button, the correct instance of teh application is highlighted. However, when actually running the test in QTP, it just says that the window is not unique, even though I am using Location to differentiate between the two.
I use this same technique on a similar app and it works perfectly. On this app, it seems that QTP is not using the Location property even though it is set in the object repository for this app.
What else can I try?
Re: Location ordinal not working for .net app
