.NET 4 / C# application recognition using QTP 11.0
We needed some help in automating a .NET 4 / C# based application using QTP 11.0.
The history is that the previous version of this application used to be recognized as SWF objects with QTP 10.0. Now we have an upgraded version of the application and QTP 11.0 has been decided to be used.
Does anyone have any experience with these situations?
Also how difficult is it to use .NET extensibility for this?
Re: .NET 4 / C# application recognition using QTP 11.0
Thanks Koranke, we have already installed that patch, however it is still not working.
Yes QTP11 is not able to recognize .NET Controls built in C#.
Also the previous version of this application was recognized as SWF objects, but this new version is not being recognized. Does anyone know if app developers have the ability to switch off / on properties or methods exposed by the application to QTP?
I suspect QTP_00699,QTP_00709,QTPNET_00099, and QTPNET_00082 are what you need. HP support can get you these.
One interesting side effect after installing these was that I had to put QTP into record and playback and interact with the controls before the QTP object spy started picking them up. This was just a once off activity per machine I put the patches on.
