QTP Object Recognition
We have a .Net application that has a number of home grown Winform controls. One of the controls is a data grid which is basically a table with a bunch of rows that contain information. QTP can not access the information contained in the rows of the table. It recognizes the parent control but not the children (rows) of the control.
There has been some talk about updating this control and I wanted to make the rows accessible to QTP but I don't know what to tell the developer to implement to allow for the access of the rows of the grid. Does anyone know how this works for QTP? What does QTP use with .Net controls to access the data within the control.
As an example Microsoft Coded UI uses a thing called Accessibility to access information in a Winform control. What is QTP using to access information in the same control?
Re: QTP Object Recognition
Jeff, QTP once it sees a SwfTable it will not look inside the table for Individual rows or cells.
Why do you want individual rows to be accessible? You should use QTP methods on the SwfTable to perform actions on to the table
