I have the above, a Java RCP application. On mouse over the error icon, I will get a tooltip with the corresponding error message. The error icon and message appears or not depending on the value entered into the Sample Value textbox. Is there anyway for me to verify that the correct icon is displayed, and get the text of that tooltip for verification using QTP 10 ?
That icon and popup message in the source codes are in fact ControlDecoration(org.eclipse.jface.fieldassist.Co ntrolDecoration) assigned to the JavaEdit box, after some checks had been applied to its contents.
In this case we are expecting the contents to be only Hexadecimal, hence when I entered some other characters, the checks failed and the error icon and message are set to the ControlDecoration.
And in case I enter only Hexadecimal values into the JavaEdit box, there should neither be any icons nor messages.
Therefore what I wish to check using QTP is the popup message in priority, the proper error messages are displayed according to the error detected during the check on the JavaEdit box contents, and if possible if the icon appears or not.
I hope I am clearer now.
