i have a serious problem with automation of our application where test scripts seem to randomly fail due to object recognition failures. a test will run fine most of the time but then fail at some point with a warning that some object could not be found. this seems to impact maybe 10% of our tests.
the default behavior in QTP is to report this as a warning, which then hides that fact that something failed when viewing report results (the test as a whole is reported as a pass). is there some way to change this default behavior so that objects not found get reported as a failure instead of as a warning?
I have seen this issue. They way the person wrote the script. they were using Wait to wait for the page to load which is not a good idea.
Make sure Page is completed loaded first then move forward with the script. in my case person put a wait 10 sec and script was moving forward after 10 sec but page was not still loaded. so I get failures
this is a client/server app, so no pages to load. a dialog is opened. there's a radio button on the dialog. QTP fails to find the radio button (it's there, but in this case the object definition was outdated). QTP reports a warning that it can't find the object. i want it to report a failure.
