How would i test this? if i will use co-ordinates or bitmap checkpoint it might fail on other machienes if resolution differs.PLease help me????
Now i am just doing estimation if my req. can be automated.Use of version is not decided yet....But anyway..thanks for your valuable feed back i will recommand QTP 11.
May you please let me know how feature works in 11 version & name of the feature.
If you have QTP 11 it's very easy to define the position of the element according to the other element's position as one of identificator of the element (it can be set in OR - it's just more one option for the element's identification there).
Regarding color of the button you can check via name of the style. If the name of the element's style is the same as it should be - you can pass the checkpoint. Usually it's sufficient.
If you want to compare 2 images - you can write your own checkpoint - in this case the different resolutions of the screens won't be relevant.
Or you can take "innerhtml" property as string and try to find there the color's code you need (if it's always defined and you can see it in DOM).
