I have noticed in my shared, global OR that I have a lot of repeated page/etc objects that are named from example_1 to example_20, etc . I am assuming I have many same object definitions because earlier I learned(F6) each page a few times (or in some cases I have multiple links/etc).
I would like to create a new OR for each page as my OR is like 70mb large.
If I rename the page name, do my scripts follow and update the links to the page?
I changed the page name in the OR from CTE_RR to CTE_RR_1 and coped the Help page and renamed it to CTE_RR and removed the view links. I then Add Objects while in Manage OR and selecting the new CTE_OR but nothing copied into the page OR folder.
Guess I cannot do that.
Is it possible to remove a page OR and then replace it with a new OR of the same4 name but cleared out objects of only those I need? I might have 400-500 objects in 7 or 8 pages that are duplicates.
1. Whenever you rename the objects in the OR, it reflects in the whole script automatically.
2. Better you go to OR Manager and open the existing shared OR and open one more new OR and then whatever objects you want to segregate, segregate it and put it in the new OR, add more objects to the new OR and save it and associate this new OR to your test. In OR Manager, you can copy, cut, paste, drag the objects from one OR to another OR.
3. Instead of deleting any objects you can rename it as per your requirement and use it.
Suggestion: Adding the objects manually to the OR and renaming it as per your requirement / std. naming conventions is a good practice (like txtUserName, txtPassword, btnLogin etc.) in automation.
