QTP tests execution by remote connection
I am connecting using Start -> Run -> mstsc [remote PC] to another PC where QTP is installed and come across inconsistent weird issues which never occur when I execute the tests locally. For example, my test opens an application and logs in using username and password provided in the data table. The username in the data table is Admin (capital "A") however I see that the entered user is sometimes "admin" and sometimes "ADMIN" and therefore the whole test stops at the login stage.
Does anyone have any insight on why it happens and how can be overcome? We have QTP workstaions installed in the office whereas some testers work abroad and should be able to connect remotely to the QTP workstations in order to run the tests.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation,
Re: QTP tests execution by remote connection
I think it is not related to execution of tests remotley , becuase if you run the tests remotley maximum time some scenarios can fail if the AUT is not in focus.
As an alternate you can handle this inside the script convert admin To Admin or ADMIN what ever your application supports.
