    QTP + .Net + infragistic + webform application

    I am stuck with the automation of .Net + infragistic + webform application. It is a standalone application. The scenario which i am trying automate is in hierarchy –

    ‘SwfWindow().SwfObject().Window().WinObject()’

    ‘SwfWindow().SwfObject().Window().Page().Frame().W inObject()’

    Does you have any idea for automating the above hierarchy.
    Please let me know as soon as possible.

    No we are yet to get the test advantage addin from client side.
    still the objects would have recognized as SwfObjects instead of
    SwfWindow().SwfObject().Window().WinObject()’

    just a thought

    is there any setting to be done in QTP?

    Well I don't expect that. How will your application be identified by QTP when you don't load the .NET addin?

    Re: QTP + .Net + infragistic + webform application

    You may need to just do it by going to the .Object level and lower.

    Seems you have the base object structure going, but the Infragistics control is out of reach. In this situation at times I've had to use the .Object method and then go native methods/properties from there.

    You'll have to spy via IEDeveloper (in browser) or Hawkeye (desktop based) to get at the properties/methods of the innate Infragistics object. Also, don't be afraid to look up on the Infragistics site the object type and the documentation for the methods/properties. All else fails there may be a way for the developer to 'expose' the control better for you so you can identify and hook it.

    Good luck.

    thanks for the reply.
    i am using .NET addin.

    Hi Jim
    Can you please elaborate on
    "IEDeveloper (in browser) or Hawkeye (desktop based) to get at the properties/methods of the innate Infragistics object"

    I have checked with the Devloper, and they say the inner objects are using asp,javascript,html.
    Outer layer used .Net infra

    so when i spy it identifies as (when i spy on any object)
    SwfWindow().SwfObject().Window().Winobject()
