I tried to search for this type of scenario in SQA foums but haven't found any.
The scenario is like this.
I need to validate data from a excel sheet aganist my application which has been developed in Java.
Actually the application displays the data as T66AEIKV (R) where A, I, K are in blue color.
Now my expected data in excel sheet is T66A, T66I, T66K per each cell.
I have to make sure that the expected data matches with the application data. But how do i divide the word T66AEIKV into T66A,T66K,T66K in real time. Also on what basis.
This is only one word. I have more words like this to validate.
Please help me out. Also if you can provide me the logic that will be great.
Attached are the application data and the excel data. Please have a glance.
Cannot really understand your problem. If "T66AEIKV (R)" is the string you need to check, any reason you can't put it directly into your excel sheet, so you can compare the whole strings? Maybe a few screen shot can help.
For pattern u can use regular expression
