Pop up list possibly AJAX how do I handle it?
Hi folks, hope someone may be able to help.
I've a web edit object on a page that when two or more numbers are entered, creates a pop up list to choose from. The list is not in a separate browser but sort of extends from the web edit field, is the same width and has a scroll bar.
QTP, just records the ultimate value that is selected and creates this as a 'Set' method. This is fine, if we know the numeric value to enter and don't want to check the list values but that's exactly what I want to do!
You can't spy on the list and the web edit has no child web elements. When I turned on web events, then it records 'onmouseover' events to fire but on replay, these do not do anything.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Check with your developers to find out what widget they are using. Also check the Web 2.0 toolkit which has support for some toolkits like GWT, Dojo etc.
If they are using a In-house widgets, you can look at the way the object is built and then try to interact with it.
