Reusability of Dynamic Data
I am trying to automate a system where the data which needs to be entered should be extracted from a database. This can be done by running sql queries to extract the data, but the issue is that for this system we cannot use the same data over and over again. Each time the test script is run a new set of data needs to be extracted and used. I was thinking of using an index or count in order to keep a row count of the tables which need to be extracted. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and how did they go about doing this?
Thanks and regards,
Re: Reusability of Dynamic Data
I would rather prefer to create a offline DB for this. Where another job is used to pull in data from actual application DB and then you can add multiple flags to control status of data. Your data xfer job can control not pulling in existing data and you mark the status of used data in through scripts.
In your script you will only pull data which has clean status
