    Microsoft MVC Framework = Problems

    I was just handed a URL to a web site, and was told to "Automate testing of this thing, It was designed with the Microsoft MVC Framework."

    Cool... not exactly the longest requirement spec, but I'll give it a go...

    So, I brought the app up in IE8... looks good. Has your standard web stuff, Lots of boxes, some full of data, dropdowns with more data, couple radio buttons... all standard bits
    Change contents in 1, data propagates... run of the mill stuff...

    So, I pulled up QTP and began a recording.
    With the recorder running, I selected dropdowns, entered text, clicked radio buttons, and other stuff...
    QTP sat there, Cursor quietly blinking on line 1....
    THAT was alarming...
    Soooo, tried to look at things with Object Spy
    Nothing... Nada... Zippy...
    Any thoughts?

    Is there a super-sekrit-addin needed to look at this stuff?

    Patrick: Which add-in did you load to record against the app?

    Re: Microsoft MVC Framework = Problems

    @Anshoo Arora - Tried .net alone, then added web, then added ALL listed above...
    Your phrasing gives me pause... "record against the app?". Is there some place within QTP where I need to do something... "Active"(Beyond checking them on startup)

    @FredMan - Yup...

    @any - If it helps, I have something called AutoIT3 also... I used its "Windo Info" (Like Object Spy)
    It did not see any objects either

    @all - MVC = bad juju for the QTP man......

    @everseeker,

    Disable Protected mode in IE and see if it helps.

    You can check out the product availability matrix here: http://support.openview.hp.com/selfs...ment/KM438391. I didn't find support for MVC framework anywhere, but I would still recommend you to contact HP support regarding this.

    For those wondering about what MVC framework is (I was!), you can view this: http://channel9.msdn.com/blogs/matth...cott-hanselman
