We will be implementing an Oracle ERP package and management want's to know if we need the following Oracle testing suit of tools. My assumption is that QTP and QC can do everything that the Oracle tools can but I have never tested Oracle applications. Anyone know if my assumptions are correct?
Oracle Load Testing - Load Runner
Oracle Functional Testing - QTP
Oracle Application Testing Suite Testing Accelerators for Sieble - QTP with Sieble add-in
Oracle Application Testing Suite Testing Accelerators for Oracle E-Business Suite - QTP with Oracle add-in
Oracle Application Testing Suite Testing Accelerators for Web Services - HP Service Test
I am an Test Automation Engineer currently working in this area and below are my answers,
Oracle Load Testing (OLT) - Load Runner
Oracle Functional Tester (OFT Inbuilt IE Cannot test Pop ups from Web application/ Not supported by Oracle Tech any more) - QTP (Web Only)
Oracle Application Testing Suite (Open Script 9.1 Functional Automation/ Load testing) - QTP with Sieble add-in, Oracle Addin, Web Services (SOA) and Load Runner
People Soft Test Framework (PTF 8.51) - Peoplesoft Test Automation
Oracle Test Manager (OTM) Test Management Tool - Quality Center/ Test Director
Dont Confuse for OTM there are two terms associated "Oracle Test Manager" and "Oracle Transportation Manager".
Oracle is a genius they are releasing duplicate products for Testing and confusing us as to which one to select. To my knowledge i have worked with QTP for the past 6 years and i find it the best suited one for Oracle based applications.
