    Hello All,

I have the working code below which opens Browser (IE8) and then opens the tabs with the respective websites in tabbed mode. Is there any better way of opening the browsers in tabbed mode.

Thank you for your help in advance.

IE doesn't support opening multiple browsers from the command line like Firefox does, so the best you could do would be to offload that into a script as shown here.

But that's just moving the "problem"...

    Hello All

When i ran the script for the first time the browsers opened in tabbed mode in IE8.

i tried to run the script again today, first the default page opened up and second page also opened up. but upon the third website opening it opened on the existing 2nd window. If i use wait command its throwing error

    Browser("New Tab").OpenNewTab

Just try commenting sync statements, do let us know if it works?

Post the error message that you get, when you use wait statement.

Re: IE8 with browsers opened in Tabbed mode

    Anand
if i comment ou tthe sync i am getting the general runtime error at
    Browser("New Tab").Page("New Tab").Sync
I had Wait(5) just in case if slow opening of browser. it opens first website fine, 2nd one also opens up fine but when the third one opens up it opens in the 2nd tab.

This is what i have done
opened ie browser which opens the default website and then used record option clicked on new tab and entered the website which opens up the website in 2nd tabbed window and did for rest the same way.

Upon saving and run 1st time it opens up correctly. but if i try that again later next day or so i will get the 3rd website which is supposed to be 3rd tabbed window, opens now in 2nd (it opens 1st and 2nd fine first but 3rd website instead of opening in 3rd tabbed window it overwrites on the 2nd opened tab browser.

    thank you
    John

Re: IE8 with browsers opened in Tabbed mode

Please comment all 3 sync statements with Page("New Tab") and check, that is what I meant earlier. I doubt QTP had confusion in recognizing newly open tab.
