We have Concurrent License server installed on a server.
Could you please let us know - how to enable the logging feature
We would like to get the below details from the License server
1) List of person/system who has connected to the server
2) List of person connected and executed QTP scripts
3) How many times the maximum usage of concurrent user logged into the system
4) How many times login has been failed due to the maximum utilisation of concurrent server
5) After each login failure, the next successful login time has to be noted.
I can only find, in WLMAdmin, information on CURRENT use
I am looking for pretty much the same thing that the OP is asking for
I need historical data on use, OR, I need a way to monitor/log/record use going fwd.
I need this information so I can answer the question posed to me... Do we really NEED all of the licenses we have on out Lic Server? Are they even being used much?
If so, how many are being used by our OffShore teams???
Straight forward, reasonable request, from my management...
PS - Your reference:
-------------------------------------[ QUOTE ]
The SysAdminHelp folder has more information . You will find it in the Sentinel License Server Install Folder.
[/ QUOTE ]-------------------------------------
refers to a folder I can't find anywhere on my server...
Is this am optional feature I need to go find/install???
On the CD....I have never seen the CD. (My company stuffed it deep into their archives, I would have to do some purification ritual and sacrifice 286 pigeons and a goat to get them to show me the room it is in... To actually LOOK at the cd... well, not sure if there are enough goats in my town
But I found what I was looking for...
added an environment variable on the server. Now I am getting a REALLY good log... Quite detailed
in your license server machine do the following
1- Create a folder c:\mylogs
2- Start> Right click My Computer
3- Select properties
4- Click the Advance tab
5- Click the Environment Variables button
6- Under System variables click the New button
7- Variable Name = LSERVOPTS
Variable Value= -s c:\mylogs\mylicensefile -l c:\mylogs\myusage.log -f c:\mylogs\mytrace.log -tr 7 -z 2m -c c:\mylogs\logs.csv
8- Start > Control Panel > Admiistrative Tools > Services
Restart the Sentinel LM service
9- Check the folder c:\mylogs , all log files will be there
