Automating Silverlight Dialog boxes
We are in process of automating a Silverlight3.0 application with QTP 10.0.
We are facing issue while automating Silverlight Dialog boxes. Although the tool recognizes the dialog box but still we are unable to perform operation in the dialog box (e.g. selection of a row in dialog box, calculating the number of rows in dialog box).
Has anyone faced such issue and has any work around that can be implemented?
PS: Each cell is recognized as Slvobject which can be parameterized by its index. But this would not resolve our issue and is not a permanent solution.
Looking for a quick response.
Re: Automating Silverlight Dialog boxes
I assume you mean a dialog box containing a list or grid? Unfortunately, the Object Spy doesn't always show all the parts in a Silverlight page. We use a program called Silverlight Spy, which does a pretty good job of showing all the intermediate parts. We were able to find the table, then get all the row child objects, then for each row, get the cell child objects. Kind of a hassle, but we were able to write utility functions to handle most of the task.
That worked great, until development switched to Silverlight 4, which is not supported by _anything_.
