I have a QTP script which is like an action repository. I store all my actions in this script. This was created using QTP 8.2 and QTP 9.5.
Now, we have recently upgaraded to QTP 10.0. When we try to create new actions in this script, the local datasheet for that action does not appear. When I try to look for the datasheet using step generator, it specifies that "the specified data sheet not found".
When we save this script and open it up again, this action comes in the missing information section saying that this action is not found.
Can you provide some insight on this and any probable reasons why this issue is occurring? Can we handle this issue some way?
This can be a defect in QTP 10.0 with upgraded script. if you want to try, go to the folder where you have saved your script and you will find a "Default.xls" file. OPen it in excel sheet and try adding an additional worksheet to it. Save the changes. Open QTP script again.
I contacted HP support and got to know that this is probably because we cannot add more than 256 actions to a script. This i guess is because any excel cannot add more than 256 sheets and so with the "Default.xls" file. We are looking at some other options to handle this now.
Dont think there is a way around of associating more than one datatable for one script(other than import), if you are using more than 256 actions in one script, i guess time its create a new script and migrate some actions onto the other.
