    hwnd/window id constantly changing

I got a real humdinger: I am working on a desktop app coded in Uniface. The OK button window id/hwnd (they have the same values) change from test run to test run. So, the OK button does not get identified and the script fails. I have tried removing hwnd/window id as an item to be used for description. But then, it will not work. And to add salt to the wound, QTP identifies the OK button as a WinObject, so I cannot get ROProperties. I would like to either have hwnd/window id accept any value (tried using * like wildcard, nada), or set the hwnd/window id to the value in the object repository. But I can't get the hwnd/window id programmatically. Is there a way to do this? Maybe VBscript?

    Thanks

    Re: hwnd/window id constantly changing

Hi Tarun: Thanks for your response. I did try creating the button as a virtual object but then when I run it, I get a "object not visible" error. I have tried .Activate but that doesn't work either.

Can you attach few screenshots for the window as well as all the object spy properties that are shown for the object?

did you get this to work?
