My task is to create an Automation Framework for the following:
The first application launched is .NET
The second application launched is .WPF
From the second .WPF application you can click on a link which launches another .NET application and eventually from this application you can display a web app.
Any ideas on how to setup this Automation Framework up?
Does the second application be launched from the first application? why do you think you require a framework for such a small thing? You can record and play the script. Seems that you are a starter, the best suited for you is Record and Playback and the keyword based automation.
I may have oversimplified my problem. This is not a simple record and playback scenario. This is an end to end (use case) test. Where in these applications several criterias are being met in each one to get to and end result.
For example: 1 simple testcase uses:
several functions (defined in libray files)
and on average number of lines of code in script is 650.
Also, because of the limitations of QTP working with .NET, and WPF there are several workarounds implemented to make these applications work.
