Does anybody know how to group together results from multiple tests? As an example, I have 20 seperate test scripts that I have batched up using Test Batch Runner. After all 20 tests have finished I have to manually go through all 20 result sets to see what happened. Is there anyway of having an overall summary that will show me all the results in one place?
Rty now i dont have a QTP in my machine, written with the asumptions, pls correct your self if any sysntax errors found.
Step1: Create Excel File Extranally with the column names as "TC_Name", "PassorFail", "Remarks"
Step2: Datable.ImportSheet "C:\testsummary.xls","Summary","Action1" 'Place this code at the top of your script
'Step3: Call this function with the user reporting values
EG: ExportRes Environment("TestName"),"PASS/FAIL","your comments"
Step4: DataTable.ExportSheet "C:\testsummary.xls","Action1","Summary" 'Place this code at the end of the your script
'Place this script in your lib file
Public Function ExportRes(strTCName,strRes,strRemaks)
intRC = DataTable.GetRowCount
intRowCnt = DataTable.GetSheet ("Action1").GetRowCount
DataTable.SetCurrentRow(intRowCnt + 1)
'Enter the results into respective cells
DataTable ("TC_Name","Action1") = strTCName
DataTable("PassorFail","Action1") = strRes
DataTable("Remarks","Action1") = strRemaks
Are you suggesting that I call the function from every test script that I create?
Am I right in thinking that the purpose of your suggestion is to read in the existing results.xml file, append the results of the current test to it (by using the ExportRes function) and then save the updated results.xml file?
Would this mean that I'd have to manually deduce if the test passed or failed (your example in Step 3 shows you manually recording the result). Is it not possible to extract this decision from QTP?
