sequence of actions

Hi All,

I created a flow with 4 actions

The first action has no parameters.
The rest of the actions contains 2 rows of parameters (each action) .

I need the flow to be executed by the following order-
action 1 (only once)
action 2 with parameters from it;s first row
action 3 with parameters from it;s first row
action 4 with parameters from it;s first row
action 2 with parameters from it;s Second row
action 3 with parameters from it;s Second row
action 4 with parameters from it;s Second row

Please advise
Thanks you so much for help

Re: sequence of actions

write a vbscript and pass the test name and row name to it.

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
Function calltest(testname , rownumber)

call the test with row number as a parameter

End Function
</pre><hr />

in the test set the current row as rownumber

in your vbs file again make calls accordingly

calltest("action 2",1)
calltest("action 1",2)
calltest("action 1",1)
Cheers!!!

Re: sequence of actions

Thanks for you help,
To be honest I don't understand what exactly I should do , if you can please elaborate
I just started to use QTP last week

now that I thinking about it maybe I shouldn't have to create so many actions, can I still solve my problem?

I want action2 to be executed with the parameters in row#1 and than action3 with parameters in row #1 and action4 with parameters in row#1

then action2 to be executed with the parameters in row#2 and than action3 with parameters in row #2 and action4 with parameters in row#2

I hope that my problem is clear

Re: sequence of actions

Easiest thing(since you just started with QTP) is to create another script which has call statements and set the context of the row for each one of the as required.

Look up Insert call to Actions to know how to create action calls.

Look up datatatble methods to set the row context explicitly.
Cheers

Re: sequence of actions

Thanks for the advise but my problem was not solved yet.
In action 2 I called to action 3 and in action3 I called to action4
but when action2 was executed with the parameters from the first row action3 was called and was executed with twice (since there are 2 rows of parameters)
I need action3 to be executed only once during the first iteration.
how can I do it?

I didn't find anything related to datatable methods in the help ((((
