IE8 WinEdit control edit fields not recognized?
QTP Version: 10 (Build 531 - applied patch QTP_00626)
Browser Version: Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385
I'm attempting to record a login function to login to a page sitting behind Apache authentication. The dialog the pops up is a Browser.Dialog class with two edit fields. When recording against IE7, the two edit fields have a text property that is recognized. However, against IE8, neither of the two edit fields can be uniquely identified. QTP simply creates two child objects "Edit" and "Edit_2".
Re: IE8 WinEdit control edit fields not recognized?
To be clear, one WinEdit field is for a username. The other WinEdit field ("Edit_2") is for the password.
It's fairly simple, or so I thought. I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't even hit the WinEdit fields with a location identifier. For example:
Browser("Address Book").Dialog("Windows Security").WinEdit("location:=0").Set "2345670019"
I get an "unspecified error" when I play this back.
