Can you capture menu items in QTP?
I'm trying to capture menu items in QTP and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I want to know if certain menu items are enabled or disabled in various situations. The standard verification point doesn't seem to work and I've fiddled around with using ChildObjects, but I get errors when I try to run it.
I think the root of the problem is the winMenu item doesn't show up when I do a spy, but it is in my object repository (added during a record). However there aren't any useful properties on the winMenu to tell me which items are enabled and disabled.
I'm trying to evaluate if I can move some current regression tests from Rational to QTP, so I'm wondering if this will be a limitation. Rational has a menu verification point, so it's easy to do the check in there.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer a suggestion or tip.
