Want to do a text checkpoint on the save dialog for my test app. The save dialog text is 2 lines with todays date at the end. I would like to store the text and add on todays date (already displayed in correct form in cell A1)in a cell in the Global Data Table so I can paramaterize the checkpoint. The problem is I can't seem to imbed a Carriage return in the text of the cell. I tried all the modifier keys to no avail. Save Dialog Text looks like:
Tried that along with all the other modifier keys (Ctrl, shift, [stupid is as stupid does]+Alt, Shift+Ctrl)_. I get some odd responses (open an object properties window, go to bottom of column, etc) but none put the CR into the line. I am using QTP10, XP SP3. This is makin me nuts.
I am not 100% sure if it will work in your case but no harm trying it out
Environment("Textchkp1")="Location Warehouse" & vbcrlf & "Post Date " & Date
In your checkpoint, instead of reading from datatable, read it from environment variable Textchkp1
workaround could be
Create an output checkpoint on your window for the same data and point it to the datatable. Now run the Output checkpoint. your required data should be in the DT now. See what character is displayed between the lines and then use the same data or the character displayed as it is for your carriage return
