Using QTP 10, I am trying to get a new machine up and running using a floating license. I have specified the server address in the license installation utility and then used the "Check Connection" button to verify that it detects QTP and the QTP Add-ins and it does. After I restart QTP after entering the license information I receive an error indicating that the eval license is expired and a button to enter the license info again. When I go back into the license installation utility all of the information I previously entered is no longer there. I can enter it again but the same cycle is repeated.
I have QTP 10 installed on another workstation and there is no issue with this machine.
I am in a Windows environment that is locked down pretty tightly. Does anyone know of any particular Windows privileges that are needed to install the license? I have searched the web and the forums here and I cannot find any solutions to this particular problem.
We did resolve the issue and it turned out to be a problem with the restricted access the user had to their Windows workstation. When we added the license information it wasn't being saved. Once we did the same with a Windows administrative account the license information saved correctly and the software is now working as expected.
