    Object classes and custom objects

    All,

I have an object within a Delphi application which has a class of DelphiObject and a native class of TASComboBox. This is a custom class and is inherited from TComboBox.

My question, is it possible to map somehow to include all TASComboBox to TComboBox objects so when this records it records as a class on DelphiComboBox??

    Thanks for any help

Tools->Object Identification... and see if the user defined button is enabled for the Delphi environment or not

You can't. I don't have Delphi add-in, so not sure if it was supported or not

One more thing. Can you try to use DP for this and force the object...something on below lines

    A().B().TComboBox("nativeclass:=TASComboBox").Sele ct "S"

Re: Object classes and custom objects

Hi, thanks for getting back. None of the options worked for me, so to get around this I changed the registry. This works well with nearly all of the objects that I interact with.

    Thanks

Re: Object classes and custom objects

    Hi,

Mapping custom class to standard is available only for windows environment. If you try to map any other environment object, by default that object will be identified as windows object.

For Web Environment HP released Web Extensibility Accelerator (Web 2.0 Patch ) which will work like custom class to standard class mapping in windows environment.

Re: Object classes and custom objects

Yes, that is correct, but the workaround is manually changing the registry. Check the registry for the following:

HKEY_USERS > **Look for S-1 or similar not _Classes > Software > Mercury Interactive > QuickTest Professional > MicTest > Packages > ClassPatterns

This is where the relationship for the custom objects and their inheritancies are.

    EG:

    TASComboBox REG_SZ DelphiComboBox

    Then check under

HKEY_USERS > **Look for S-1 or similar not _Classes > Software > Mercury Interactive > QuickTest Professional > MicTest > Test Objects

A list of all the Delphi objects are shown.

I created the registry as in the screenshot attached.

Hope this is good for everyone.

Re: Object classes and custom objects

hi there, I've got the same issue as yourself Sprozzy where a TProfGrid is coming through as a DelphiObject. I went into the registry but could not find a Quick Test Professional folder - it only went to Mercury Interactive then to TestDirector and no MicTest or Test Objects folders. I've attached a screenshot - Any ideas? Many thanks

Re: Object classes and custom objects

Hi, have you the application installed on a VM or a desktop. If on a VM check under local machine.

It should just be easier to search for MicTest in the top tier of the registry.

    Any problems let me know.
