    permission denied error

    I am trying to capture the value of a javascript variable in my client's website. I was able to get it once, but on subsequent runs I have gotten a permission denied error. I assume it is some security setting I need to change but after flipping many options I have not yet found it. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate them. Here's the code I'm using:

    set myBrowser = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    myBrowser.visible = true
    myBrowser.Navigate url

    while myBrowser.busy
    wait(1)
    wend

    mxHash = myBrowser.Document.Script.mx_hash

    myBrowser.quit

    As I mentioned earlier, I actually captured the value once but wasn't able to replicate it. I don't know what changed.

    Re: permission denied error

    Msgbox myBrowser.Document.parentWindow.mx_hash

    Re: permission denied error

    Thanks for the suggestion, Tarun, I thought it would work as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately, I get the same "Permission Denied" error. I'm certain it's something simple that I'm missing.

    Any other thoughts?

    Re: permission denied error

    No frames on the page. I think there may be some issue with my machine. I'll try it from a different computer. I've run into another issue where any instance of IE that is launched through the code I posted doesn't show up in Task Manager as iexplore.exe but as explorer.exe. Windows groups it on the taskbar with Windows Explorer. Very strange behavior.

    Re: permission denied error

    Its not very strange it is controlled by registry

    So 2 things you need to do now

    Check your registry for the following value:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\BrowseNewProcess
    If it is "no" make it "yes"

    If you are using IE7 then make sure you disable Protected Mode.
