How does QTP 9.2 detect browser load?
There's something wrong with the installation of IE on my PC, resulting in QTP apparently not being able to detect that it's loaded when I run automated tests.
My problems started when I had to upgrade from IE7 to IE8 to QA a web-based project.
Once this was complete I then needed to run some (pre-written and tried & tested) automated tests. QTP 9.2 doesn't support IE8, so I rolled back to IE7 as per Microsoft's instructions.
Since then, whenever I run these automated tests QTP finds and invokes the browser window but then just sits there at the first screen (a web form) until the timeout limit is reached. The test then fails, giving the reason "Waited 30 seconds and browser is still not loaded".
I've tried running the Microsoft IE installation repair tool and have also rolled back to IE6 but the problem persists.
Obviously some part of my IE installation has been corrupted somewhere along the way, and I was hoping that somebody could tell me what files QTP 9.2 looks at when invoking a browser window so I can then replace my damaged files with those from a colleague's working installation.
Any help appreciated.
Re: How does QTP 9.2 detect browser load?
have a look into the addons of your IE. is there the browser helper object present (and active)???
if not try to reinstall QTO to register the BHO again.
de omnibus dubitandum
