Can anyone suggest me the approach to test a Webservice using QTP. I am having the WSDL, Input Request XML and the Output XML. What is the best way to use QTP to test the webservice? I am using the QTP 9.5 with the webservice add-in and wsdl as "Apache Axis 1.X" and platform as Java.
Thanks for the reply. I had gone through most of the post for testing webservices in SQA. But i could not find any post related to testig websrvices using the XML Warehouse feature of QTP? Has someone used the XML Warehouse feature?
You don't need the web services add in to test WebServices as you can create an activeX object for both the HTTP request and the XML response in VBScript.
Infact, you don't need QTP even because the all the code is native VBScript.
I'm not testing webservices but using webservices to create users before a test starts and found it much easier to use VbScript than the Add-in, mainly becauase the webservices are REST and don;t have WSDLs
