I am having a problem with QTP 9.5 with .NET plugin installed. I am getting a General Run Error with a very large negative value for err.number variable. It seems to occur once I have more than 3 actions in a test and save it. When I come back in the morning and run the file it gets past 2 actions and throws the General Run error at the start of the following action (on a simple click playback).
I don't have any complicated functions it's simply recording my clicks and checkpoints.
I have tried to reinstall QTP and this still occurs.
I am running XP PRO SP3.
Is there a way to completely remove QTP 9.5 and then reinstall it?
I do hope this is not the only way, surely others have had this issue.
I think there is something wrong with your code(calling the actions/ associating files, declaration of variables, functions definitons/names). If you can paste your code here then i believe someone can help you.
Your error is not from QTP. It is because of some code only. The error is "The server threw an exception." The common cause of this issue is when you are using some code interacting with an external application and the application gets terminated
here is my scripts of where i have seen the error come up.
I have 5 actions (listed in the order they run)
The first 2 actions run flawless, sometimes the Downtime action will run and other times it will throw the general run error on the first line of that actions script.
If the downtime runs fine then the program throws the general run error on the first line of the OEE-oee script.
If i hit stop whenever this error occurs and go into the action where the error occurred, QTP just crashes.
If i hit skip it just fails horribly and does run the rest of the script properly.
If i restart QTP and run every action individually all works well. This really isn't automation then is it...lol.
