    About identifying the webcheckbox problem

    Hello everyone,

    I meet a problem:
    There is a webcheckbox, its name is 'list[@name='update']/Que_QuestSetBizEntity[@hciTagIndex='0']/QuestSetID', its value is '8948CD7A-4880-556D-9307-E53A3A28A8E3'

    When running my code, this step,'Browser("name:=x").Page("title:=x").Frame("n ame:=y").WebCheckBox("value:=8948CD7A-4880-556D-9307-E53A3A28A8E3").Set "ON"' can be pass
    but this step,'Browser("name:=x").Page("title:=x").Frame("n ame:=y").WebCheckBox("name:=list[@name='update']/Que_QuestSetBizEntity[@hciTagIndex='0']/QuestSetID").Set "ON"' fails, the reason is that qtp can not find this webcheckbox.

    I want to identify this webcheckbox using name attribute, because its value is dynamic generated.

    Thanks!

    Kate Nie

    Hi katenie,

    Please pay attention to the special characters which defined in Regular Expression. You may find all those characters in QTP Help then you can precede each of them by a backslash (\).

    Have you tried putting the name into a variable first and then assign. May be that can solve the issue.

    sName = "list[@name='update']/Que_QuestSetBizEntity[@hciTagIndex='0']/QuestSetID"
    'Browser("name:=x").Page("title:=x").Frame("name:= y").WebCheckBox("name:=" & sName).Set "ON"
