QTP 9.5 Uninstall Utility Issue
I had a problem uninstalling QTP 9.5 and its Add-ins. We had been testing an application deployed in a Citrix environment and were having an issue that required QTP and its Add-ins be removed and then reinstalled. I removed the Add-ins first, then the application, however, when I went to reinstall everything, I received an error message stating that a previous version of the QTP 9.5 Add-in for Quality Center needed to be removed before the Add-in can be reinstalled. I removed the Add-ins using their uninstall utilities, but did not uninstall them in any particular order. I ended up having to go through the system registry and remove any QTP associated files and I also had to run the Windows Disk Cleanup Utility as well. I opened a ticket with HP to resolve this issue, but never got resolution other than going through the system and removing individual files. Recently, I had to perform this operation again on a Citrix server, and again, needed to perform a full uninstall and reinstall of QTP. In this instance, I removed the Add-ins first in the order: QTP 9.5 Add-in for Quality Center, QTP .NET Add-in 9.2, QTP Java Add-in 9.1, QTP Web Services Add-in 9.2, QTP Web Add-in Extensibility SDK, QTP Java Add-in Extensibility SDK, and then QTP 9.5. When I next went to run the Windows Disk Cleanup Utility, I could not find any QTP files to remove from there and I could also not find any QTP associated files in the registry as I had found the first time I went through this exercise. I then went to install the application and was able to do so without any issues or messages indicating previous versions of the software. My question is then: Is there a particular order in which to remove QTP and its Add-ins that users are supposed to follow. I couldn't find anything on this from HP and was wondering if anyone else had had a similar problem with a similar solution. Thanks a lot.
