I am running QTP 10 on a windows app.
Everytime it is run for a nightly regression it crashes.
It appears that when QTP gets to a search page, enters the search data, a list of results to that search appear.
Then, when I have QTP select a row in the search results, the Vjsdebugger process occurs.
QTP hangs at this point. And if the cancel debugger is clicked, QTP closes.
Has anyone had issues with QTP and the vjsdebugger??
I did a search in the forums for VSJITDEBUGGER but got no results.
I was concerned about the underlying reason for the debugger to be invoked in the first place. I have been working on it and can answer the question myself..
The AUT has a screen with a set of dropdowns. What happens is that when you select an item in that dropdown, that item is apparently immediately sent to the database. This happens for all dropdowns in this AUT (3rd party).
I can see that the developers were thinking this would make action faster for manual users doing manual input. But..for QTP, if there is a timing issue, the wrong item, no item, or somewhere in between from the AUT can end up being sent that QTP and the OS don't know how to handle, hence the exception error that gets generated.
So, in working with this AUT, I have to be particularly extra careful about timing issues.
Thanks for your help.....
