So here's the situation. I laptop got hard booted while QTP was running and when I brought QTP back up it started acting strange (every time i reopen a project there would be less actions visible).
So I uninstalled QTP. I also downloaded a used a 3rd party tool that cleaned the registry of the QTP install (I've heard that is necessary for a clean reinstall). And as a good dube I did reboot between unistalling and using the registry tool before reinstalling. I also have ran system scan disk (no bad sections found).
My tests are all the subversion so currently they aren't even on my machines. (so bad project files have nothing to do with this)
When I start up QTP, in the initial New project that starts up I cannot create a New action. I can save the project - but the ability to use actions is gone.
If I try to open a project, it says "invalid action".
Anyone had this problem and found a solution besides reinstalling windows
1. I would like to know which version of QTP you installed/uninstalled?
2. which version are you using and this is a licensed one?
3. As per my experience, when we uninstall and reinstall QTP some of the files will not be deleted even in registry setting. There are some files we need to delte in our folders as well (\\program files\Mercury\QTP\..)
4. If you use 15days trail pack, you need to format the machine and re install.
