I am having a testcase scenario - Verify that Company name should not accept more than 100 characters by input.
How can I validate this in QTP?? Application does not give any pop up message if limit is exceeded.
The requirement is field should not take more than 100 characters.. so enter more than 100 character, you can pass it from data table.. for use for loop to enter 10 characters in each set or some thing like that..
After entering more than 100 characters.. use the GetROPropertu("text") to get the value.. and then use Len function to check the number of characters in the string..
if its 100 then its pass else its fail..
One possible solution..
Let me know if you have ny prblems with this aproach.. or senior members can correct me if this aproach is wrong..
I actually check the max input length every time I enter a value into an edit field. The main reason for this is to ensure bad data doesn't crash the script. But it can be used as a positive test also by deliberately exceeding the max input length.
