QTP 10 trial version not recognising web objects ?
I have downloaded QTP 10.00 Trial version. When I run QTP on a website using record button , it is not recording any thing. When I used object Spy then it recognized browser as follows:
"Windows: Windows Internet Explorer"
So to open the website I have to add the object in OR and write statement like following:
I have got following Add-ins installed with trial version:
Web, Active-X and Visual Basic. All of the add-ins are selected when I am recording the session.
I want to know that what shall I do so that it recognize IE as "Browser" class instead of "Windows" class and also how can I make record and run working on a website?
Re: QTP 10 trial version not recognising web objects ?
What is the website you are trying to record against?
Is QTP launched PRIOR to the browser? Sometimes QTP has issues recording/seeing objects for browsers/applications opened before QTP is opened. Try opening QTP first and then the browser.
If this is not the problem, try specifically forcing QTP to open the browser as you record. Click <Record> which will open "Record and Run Settings", and click the <Web> tab on the UI. Then, click the radial button for "Record only on browsers opened by QTP" (something like that, don't have QTP on this machine to check exact verbiage). Then, put in the URL of your website. Click <Ok>.
This will force QTP to launch a browser that automatically navigates to your website while recording. From there, try recording and learning objects.
Not sure what the issue is, but hopefully this helps!
