Why does the browser take a long time to close
I'm very puzzled because the browser I'm trying to close always takes 11 seconds to detect, whether I specify 0, 1 or, nothing as the EXIST timeout. This is on a Windows XP machine running IE6. I also tried it with smart ID ON and OFF, with the same results. The properties I am looking for in the browser is a regEx Title. Adding more properties or removing the regEx has no effect either. Funny thing is, other IE browsers close very quickly without the 11 seconds. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
This is the code:
'Check to see if main browser is open, then close it
print "before IF statement " & time
If Browser("Launcher").Exist(1) Then
print "detected browser " & time
print "closed browser " & time
print "after IF statement " & time
The prints return:
before IF statement 9:16:08 AM
detected browser 9:16:19 AM
closed browser 9:16:19 AM
after IF statement 9:16:19 AM
Re: Why does the browser take a long time to close
based on your print, Browser("Launcher").CloseAllTabs takes < 1 second.
what takes it locng is to find Browser("Launcher"), make sure you have described it explicitly.
