Trouble w/ shared forms and the object repository
Tried several searches on this but couldn't find any help.
I have a form in our application that can be called from different locations, like a menu list or off of a button click from another form. It appears to be the same form (and I assume the same shared code), but QTP wants to treat each instance as a seperate object. Is there anyway to consolidate these object in the object repository to simplify script development? I'd rather not have extensive logic try to handle where the form came from and have to maintain the multiple copies in the Object Respository.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Trouble w/ shared forms and the object repository
I presume that you are talking about parent/child relationships between the forms - e.g. when a subform is instanced from FormA it appears as a child of FormA, but when it instances from FormB it appears as a child of FormB.
Descriptive Programming may well be the key in this case. Tarun has some excellent advice on this subject on his website ...
