Terminal Emulator - HLLAPI not supported
We're trying to automate over TIBCO ObjectStar, a Terminal Emulator that unfortunately doesn't support HLLAPI. I believe I have configured it correctly in the QTP Options and setup the grid so so that a single character is shown per block.
I am able to add the TeTextScreen object to my OR but I am now struggling to see what advantages this gives me over a standard Window object (how it was recognised before installing the add-in) since the majority of the TeTextScreen methods state that they do not work for non-HLLAPI emulators.
The ClickPosition method is of no use to me since clicking inside the ObjectStar window has no effect on the cursor position. Also, the GetText method only seems to return the top-line of text from within the window, despite the fact that when I use GetROProperty("row count") it correctly returns a value of 24.
So I'm basically asking have I missed anything, since at the minute I believe I would be better going back to not using the add-in and making do with the .GetVisibleText and .Type methods.
Many thanks in advance for all responses.
Re: Terminal Emulator - HLLAPI not supported
I felt the same when I was doing the POC for a non-HLLAPI complaint terminal emulator. Even most of the check points does not work with the add-in, which would work in regular windows environment, i.e. without add-in.
