Scripting to record operation on MS excel

Is there any way in QTP to record operation done on MS excel(macro file)? Can we manually do scripting in qtp which open excel sheet and perform expected operation on it.

No. You need to used Excel COM API code to achieve the same.

create an excel object first and you can do the actions you want on msexcel.

Example, by this code you can open an excel sheet you want through QTP
    Set objExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    Set objWorkbook = objExcel.Workbooks.Open("C:\Scripts\New_users.xls" )

Re: Scripting to record operation on MS excel

    Hi,
Thank you all for your response.
    I have one more query:
On our machine we have MS Office 2003 and my project is going to upgrade it to MS Office 2007,
will it affect already prepared script(using MS Office 2003) QTP8.2?
Will QTP8.2 support higher version of MS Office(excel sheet)?
