    Exist Method -information required

i wanted to tell QP that donot wait for 20 seconds

usually QTP waits for 20 Seconds when you check with Exist Method but

i wanted to reduce the wait time to 3 seconds and to achinve that i have done this SwfWindow.Exist(3)

but it still waits for 20 seconds i am not sure
how to tell it not to wait for 20 seconds and just check for 3 seconds

Look up for Exist in QTP help file. One thing you would want to know is whether for .Exist(time), time is in seconds or mili-seconds

    Re: Exist Method -information required

It's seconds, but what difference would 3 seconds or 3 mili-seconds make when it's taking 20 anyway?

How are you identifying the object? DP or OR? Appear to be hitting the 20 second default object sync and not the exist statement itself. Any errors encountered or does the exist just return false after taking longer than expected?

Put a breakpoint on the exist statement and see if it's really taking 20 seconds there or in a prior step.

Seconds and milliseconds make a lot of difference when the person is using .Exist(3000)!
