i'm having a problem with smart identification.
i added to my OR a webtale.when the script finish run in the result i can see that qtp invoked its smart identification although the webtable is in the OR.
does anyone know why is that?
Sounds like the problem isn't that QTP can't find your table, but that it finds too many tables that match the description properties it is looking for.
Sometimes this can be a challenge.
My favorite solution is to have the developers assign a name property to their table object - then add this property to the description properties in the OR and you're living in a happy place...
But that isn't always possible.
You could open up the object spy and look at this table, and the 5 other matching tables, and try to figure out which property is unique to the table you want, then add that property to your description properties.
One thing that might help is learning to understand the chunk of data you see in your Test Results every time Smart Identification is used. It tells you a whole lotta stuff, but chief among this data, it tells you which properties it decided to use to identify the table it finally identified - you can probably use this same property as a description property in your OR.
