Upgrading from QTP 9.0 to 9.5

    Hi,

we are planning to upgrade to QTP 9.5 , so what all issue we might face?
Currently we are using QTP 9.0, have some 100 scripts and use shared repositories .

    Thanks,
    Preet

Re: Upgrading from QTP 9.0 to 9.5

I don't think you might face any problems. But when you try to open your 9.0 scripts with 9.5, QTP prompts you to convert the format of the scripts to 9.5. If you want to modify the scripts you may convert otherwise you can say no and proceed and the scripts would be opened read only.

I upgraded from qtp 9.2 to 9.5 but didn't face any problems with the existing scripts being executed on QTP 9.5

Yes you are right, once you modify the scripts on 9.5 you cannot use them on 9.0.

Re: Upgrading from QTP 9.0 to 9.5

Some who have migrated from 9.2 to 9.5 have complained about problems and issues. I did not encounter any of significance.

Perhaps the safer, but surely more time consuming, alternative is to upgrade from 9.0 to 9.2 now and then 9.5 or even the future 10.0 later. 9.0 had many bugs fixed in 9.2.
